Project Title	Luas Line B1 - Sandyford to Cherrywood

Project Description	Luas Line B1 project involved a 7.5 km extension to the Luas Green Line southwards from Sandyford to Cherrywood through lands which are at present undeveloped and are zoned for high-density residential and commercial development. The extension is designed to light rail standards but, as with the Sandyford to St. Stephen’s Green light rail line, allowance is made for subsequent upgrade to Metro.

Current Status of Project	Luas Line B1 Extension, Sandyford to Cherrywood, was opened by An Taoiseach, Mr. Brian Cowen TD, on 16 October 2010.
