Project Title	Luas Line A1 - City West Extension

Project Description	A 4 km spur from the Red Line to City West. The spur will serve the residential and commercial centre of City West including the National Digital Park. The project will also serve the communities of West Tallaght including Fettercairn and Cheeverstown.
Projected Completion Date	Construction to be completed in Spring 2011 with services operating on the line by July 2011
Current Status of Project	In June 2008, An Bord Pleanála granted a Railway Order to the RPA in respect of the Luas extension to Citywest and the Order became enforceable in August 2008. In agreement with the RPA, a consortium of local developers will be responsible for delivery of a substantial part of the works for this extension as well as providing land and making a capital contribution in respect of the project. The consortium of private developers, Citywest Luas Ltd, comprises Davy Hickey Properties, Harcourt Development Limited and HSS (Mansfield Group). In February 2009, An Taoiseach announced the signing of contracts for the civil and track works with BAM Contractors (formerly Ascon Contractors). Construction of the railway infrastructure works commenced in April 2009. Construction of the new spur is expected to be completed in Spring 2011 with services operating on the line by July 2011.
