The following developments took place in September 2009:

LUAS

New Luas extension to Citywest
On 23 September, the Minister for Transport, Mr. Noel Dempsey T.D. was in Citywest to mark the start of the installation of the first section of trackworks for the new Luas link to Citywest and Saggart.

New trams for Red and Green Luas lines
The eight new trams that were ordered for the two existing Red and Green Luas lines are now fully operational and, as of end September, are available for passenger services on the two lines. This project is now complete.
