Date: 03 March 2010

Recessionistas Rejoice - Dublin Bus ‘Ticket Thursdays’ Are Back!
Get the bus. Get a bargain

Due to the success of the inaugural Dublin Bus ‘Ticket Thursdays’ last November 2009, Dublin Bus is pleased to announce the return of its ‘recession-busting’ deal which sees some of the city’s top retail, food and cultural outlets offering special discount and concession rates to all Dublin Bus prepaid ticket holders* each Thursday throughout the month of March.

Kicking off this Thursday, 4th March, Dublin Bus prepaid ticket holders can avail of top discounts in over 18 participating city centre outlets. Participating retail outlets include one of Dublin’s most iconic department stores Clerys, offering a 10 to 20% discount on selected brands, sure to appeal to the fashion conscious. Foodies will be able to satisfy their hunger with delicious discount offers and special ‘buy one get one free dishes’ in some of the city’s top eateries including Pacino’s, Café Bar Deli and Pygmalion Bar and Café . Culture vultures and families can enjoy special concessions on entry to some of the city’s top cultural institutions including the Dublin Writers Museum, Wax Museum Plus and Dublin Zoo. A full list of discounts and further information on the initiative is available on www.dublinbus.ie/ticket-thursdays. To avail of these exclusive offers, just present your Dublin Bus prepaid ticket at participating outlets.

Commenting on the initiative Clíodhna Ní Fhátharta, Media & Communications Manager, Dublin Bus, said “The inaugural ‘Ticket Thursdays’ was a great success with all participating outlets reporting high redemption levels. ‘Ticket Thursdays’ has something for everyone from fashionistas looking to bag a bargain to culture vultures and families looking to immerse themselves in the rich cultural heritage of the city. Through ‘Ticket Thursdays’ Dublin Bus not only wants to offer consumers a bargain but also encourage people to experience the city centre’s distinctive charm on a Thursday evening and avail of late night shopping”.
